Dr. Barr’s passion for facial plastic surgery was shaped early in his training through a deeply meaningful reconstructive case. During residency, he treated a 17-year-old patient who suffered a devastating dog-bite injury that severely damaged the nose and surrounding tissue.

Dr. Barr performed a complex reconstructive rhinoplasty to restore both form and function, helping the patient regain not only his appearance, but also his confidence during an incredibly difficult time. The experience left a lasting impression and solidified his commitment to facial plastic surgery.  Drawn to the specialty for its unique blend of precision, artistry, and meaningful patient relationships, Dr. Barr remains dedicated to delivering refined, natural- looking results through compassionate, highly personalized care.

Family has always played a central role in shaping Dr. Barr’s values and approach to life. Raised by a father who owned a small business and a mother who dedicated her career to education, he learned early the importance of hard work, integrity, compassion, and service to others.

Dr. Barr’s path to medicine was shaped by a personal experience during college in Washington, D.C., when he suffered a shoulder injury and was treated by a surgeon whose compassion and expertise left a lasting impression. That experience revealed the powerful impact thoughtful, personalized care can have—not only physically, but emotionally—and inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. 

Today, patient experience remains at the center of Dr. Barr’s philosophy. Whether performing rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, or reconstructive procedures, he is committed to delivering highly personalized care rooted in trust, attentiveness, and clinical excellence. From consultation through recovery, Dr. Barr strives to ensure every patient feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their surgical journey while achieving refined, natural-looking results.

Pursuing Excellence at Every Stage

Dr. Barr’s journey has taken him across the country, where he trained in diverse medical environments under some of the field’s most respected surgeons and mentors.  Originally from New England, he attended college in Washington, D.C., completed medical school in New Orleans, followed by a five-year surgical residency and a one-year facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the practice of a renowned facial plastic surgeon. He now serves patients in Atlanta and Alpharetta.

This extensive training across multiple institutions and regions provided a strong foundation in advanced facial plastic and reconstructive surgery while reinforcing his commitment to delivering personalized, precise, and compassionate care.

Surgical Residency & Fellowship Training

Dr. Barr completed his residency training in Galveston and Houston, Texas—home to some of the nation's most respected academic medical centers and one of the world's largest medical complexes—before pursuing advanced fellowship training in Austin, Texas. Throughout his surgical education, he trained under nationally recognized leaders in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, refining both his technical expertise and artistic approach to facial aesthetics.

These rigorous training experiences provided a strong foundation in advanced facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, and reconstructive procedures while reinforcing Dr. Barr's commitment to delivering personalized care with precision, attention to detail, and surgical excellence. Reflecting his dedication to the specialty, he also scored in the top 4% nationally on the facial plastic surgery section of his in-training examination, demonstrating an exceptional level of knowledge and expertise in the field.
