Surgery Isn’t Always Required

Thanks to advancements in cosmetic research and technology, resculpting the nose without surgery is possible. Some patients’ noses might be crooked, bumpy, or incompatible with the rest of their face. As a result, these patients lack confidence in their appearance and seek plastic surgery to help them achieve their ideal nose shape. However, the prospect of undergoing surgery is intimidating for many. For these patients, a minimally invasive technique called ‘liquid rhinoplasty’ is the solution.

What Is Liquid Rhinoplasty?

A non-invasive and non-surgical alternative to traditional nose reshaping surgery, a liquid rhinoplasty uses dermal fillers to carefully contour the nose. For some patients, fillers can adequately correct problem areas and enhance the look of the nose. Liquid rhinoplasties are ideal for those anxious about surgery.

How Is A Liquid Rhinoplasty Performed?

After an in-depth consultation, double board-certified facial expert Dr. Robb will determine the type of dermal filler most appropriate for your cosmetic needs. Each filler has a slightly different composition and is designed to achieve specific results. An experienced facial expert is necessary to properly identify which filler is right for you, and the correct amount and placement of said filler.

Once the appropriate fillers have been chosen, our team will administer a layer of topical numbing cream which to help you remain comfortable during the quick procedure. Once your skin is numbed, Dr. Robb will then inject dermal filler in the designated areas. The entire procedure usually takes between 1- 5 minutes.

Is A Liquid Rhinoplasty Right For Me?

A good candidate for liquid rhinoplasty is someone with a nose that has a large hump, or one that has a deep radix (a dip close to the forehead). Other areas that can be corrected with liquid rhinoplasties are high or low spots along the nose. Ideal patients do not desire a surgical intervention and would like an immediate change.

What Results Can I Expect?

Results of a liquid rhinoplasty are immediate and can last upwards of 12 months, though the length of your results depends on how quickly your body metabolizes the filler. Your nose will be better balanced with the rest of your face, and major bumps, dips, or depressions will be subtly evened out. To maintain your new, balanced contour, regular maintenance injections will be necessary. Dr. Robb will formulate a specific care plan for you that will indicate the appropriate maintenance timeline.

Are There Any Side Effects Or Downtime?

After a liquid rhinoplasty, swelling and redness are to be expected. Patients also experience some sensitivity in the area; all these side effects subside within a few days to a week. In some cases, slight bruising may occur. It is fine to resume desk work and normal activity after the procedure, however, patients should abstain from rigorous physical exertion or contact sports until cleared by Dr. Robb. Before you head home, Dr. Robb and his team will provide you with clear aftercare instructions and answer any questions you may have.
