As we step into prime laser season—Fall and Winter—it’s the perfect time to talk about how to extend the life of your beautiful laser results. Whether you’ve had a CO2 Laser, a series of BBL treatments, or a Profractional Laser session, maintaining your results is key.

That’s where microneedling comes in.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that uses ultra-fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures trigger your body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen production, and speeding up cellular turnover.

The result? Smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.

Microneedling is one of the few treatments that’s safe and effective for all skin types. It can help improve:

  • Uneven skin tone
  • Acne scars
  • Sunspots and hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Texture and overall skin quality

At Robb Facial Plastics & Aesthetics, we use the FDA-cleared SkinPen for our microneedling treatments. With 12 sterile microneedles, it creates precise microchannels while keeping your comfort in mind—your skin is numbed beforehand to ensure a more comfortable experience.

The SkinPen glides across your skin with a medical-grade hyaluronic acid-based serum. But at our practice, we offer the option of taking your treatment results one step further. Using exosomes as the glide, we can supercharge your treatment, recovery, and enhance your outcome!

 What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are like tiny messengers that tell your skin cells to act younger—boosting collagen production, increasing cell turnover, and helping to restore a more youthful glow. Starting in our late 20s, our natural collagen production slows, but exosomes help reverse that decline.

Exosomes have become a major force in cosmetic and medical skincare—and we’re proud to already offer this advanced therapy to our patients.

 Why Add Microneedling After Laser?

After laser treatment, your skin is essentially "reborn and refreshed"—with diminished fine lines, reduced pigmentation, and increased firmness. But without maintenance, those improvements will gradually fade due to ongoing environmental exposure and natural aging.

That’s where microneedling shines.

By incorporating 3–4 microneedling sessions throughout the year—ideally spaced quarterly—you help your skin stay in that youthful, collagen-producing state longer. This keeps your laser results looking fresh and vibrant and extends the time between major treatments.

 What to Expect

  • Treatment Time: About 60 minutes (30min numbing cream, 30 min treatment)
  • Discomfort: typically none to slight tingling
  • Downtime: Minimal. You may experience redness similar to a sunburn for a day or two, and mild flaking or “chapping” as your skin renews.
  • Glow Factor: By Day 5, many patients notice that radiant post-treatment glow.
  • Maintenance: Great as a stand-alone treatment or easily added to your quarterly Botox/Dysport appointments.

All of our providers at Robb Aesthetics are fully trained and experienced in microneedling. Your safety and results are always our top priorities.
