Dr. Robb Jr.’s Approach To Rhinoplasty – a Pure Specialist

The first nasal reshaping procedure dates back to the 6th century B.C., using hammers and chisels, which are still used by most surgeons today. The thoughts, theories, and techniques have advanced tremendously in the last ten years, coming from worldwide. A thorough understanding of nasal anatomy and facial relationships is paramount in nasal surgery. Trust your nose to a facial surgeon who fully understands these intricacies.

Dr. Robb is committed to staying current, and since this is his absolute specialty, he feels it’s his duty and obligation to bring each patient the absolute best that the industry offers. The second-generation born and bred nasal surgeon is fully trained and board certified in Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery (ENT) and as a facial plastic surgeon.

This means that he is extensively trained in every aspect of the nose, including:

  • Nose shape
  • Appearance
  • Deviated septum
  • Chronic sinusitis
  • Septal perforations

Occasionally, anomalies within the nose are not identified until surgery. Dr. Robb can address these issues and has the skills, instruments, and resources to do so.

Rhinoplasty Procedure Details with Dr. Robb

Dr. Robb Jr. performs all rhinoplasties in Atlanta in our exclusive, private, state-of-the-art North Point Surgery Center. This beautiful, accredited, and certified surgery center is the crown jewel attached to our office. Your medications are administered by one of our three board-certified Anesthesiologists, featuring only “top-shelf anesthesia” techniques. These techniques are incredibly safe, yield a quick recovery without the hangover, and have nausea rates of .01%.

Your procedure begins with a check-in and meeting with Dr. Robb in the pre-op area so he can answer any last-minute questions you may have. Dr. Robb will make some markings on your nose, and we will review our plan again to ensure that it is thorough, thoughtful, and complete.

Upon waking up, a nasal dressing will be in place to protect the results and prevent complications. Dr. Robb does not use packing in the nose; a splint is usually specially customized and placed outside the nose for one week.

Rhinoplasty Consultation

“Educated patients make better decisions” is what Dr. Robb believes! If you’re thinking about altering your nose, you owe it to yourself to discuss it with Dr. Robb. A nose can make or break a beautiful face; nobody understands this better than nasal expert surgeon Dr. Robb Jr.

Your consultation process starts with a detailed conversation with one of our fantastic patient coordinators. You will receive price ranges, scheduling information, and complex procedural information. We will ask you to send in photos which Dr. Robb will review before setting up a consultation. Most patients schedule their surgery at this appointment, so bring your calendar!

Dr. Robb will meet with you during your consultation and listen to your concerns and your goals for your nose. He will then thoroughly exam your nose inside and out. This is a comfortable meeting where you are getting to know each other, so we take great care to answer all your questions. He will then use our educational morphing software to teach you about your nose, which is done from the side view of the nose so that you can see what’s possible in terms of realistically changing the nose and producing a beautiful result.

Please note that Dr. Robb does not offer surgery to every patient. This consultation evaluates whether we are a good team and can accomplish your goals.

The Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

With modern advancements in cosmetic technology, ultrasonic rhinoplasty offers a gentler, more precise approach to nose reshaping. Today, reshaping the nose no longer requires breaking and reconstructing, which was often associated with increased pain and longer recovery times. At Robb Facial Plastics, you receive only the best care and expertise from Dr. Robb, ensuring optimal results.

What Is The Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty Difference?

Ethnic Rhinoplasty With Natural-Looking Results

One method we use to create natural-looking results is called ethnic rhinoplasty. Ethnic rhinoplasty is a specialized type of nasal surgery performed to preserve the unique nasal features of patients from various ethnic backgrounds. For example, African American rhinoplasty can:

  • Improve the nasal bridge
  • Narrow the nostrils
  • Define the nasal tip while preserving cultural features

Nasal Reconstruction After Skin Cancer

Atlanta and Alpharetta facial plastic surgeon Dr. Philip K. Robb Jr. also specializes in nose reconstruction after skin cancer resection. These procedures require a complete understanding of nasal anatomy, function, and appearance. Reconstructing the nose after significant cancer surgery requires extensive knowledge and comfort with primary and revision rhinoplasty.

"Dr. Robb Truly Cares About His Patients" | Honest patient review

“I came in for rhinoplasty solely for cosmetic reasons; however, you can tell Dr. Robb truly cares about his patients and their well-being. He checked the functionality of my nose and pointed out my breathing was obscured, and made a plan to address my breathing issues along with my cosmetic wants. Both he and his team are so attentive and kind. They made surgery and recovery easy, and their communication throughout everything has been excellent.

I’m only three weeks post-op, and I’m already in love with my results. He did a beautiful job, and I finally feel like my nose suits my face—plus, my breathing has improved, which is a great bonus. I feel confident about my nose and side profile for the first time in a long time. I’ve had many compliments so far, but they can’t pinpoint exactly what’s changed about me, which tells you how detailed and skilled Dr. Robb and his team are. I can’t thank them enough for all they’ve done and would highly recommend them.”

Rhinoplasty FAQs:

What are the different types of rhinoplasty procedures?

How long does rhinoplasty surgery take?

Will rhinoplasty surgery leave visible scars?

When will I see the final results of rhinoplasty?

What are the different types of rhinoplasty procedures?

There are two main types of rhinoplasty: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty. Open rhinoplasty involves making an incision on the columella (the strip of tissue between the nostrils), providing better access to the nasal structures. Closed rhinoplasty involves making incisions inside the nostrils, resulting in no visible external scarring.

How long does rhinoplasty surgery take?

The duration of rhinoplasty surgery typically ranges from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the procedure and whether additional techniques, such as cartilage grafting, are required.

Will rhinoplasty surgery leave visible scars?

In closed rhinoplasty, any incisions are made inside the nostrils, resulting in no visible external scarring. In open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made on the columella, but the scar typically fades over time and is usually inconspicuous.

When will I see the final results of rhinoplasty?

While some initial improvements may be visible once the swelling subsides, it can take several months for the nose to fully settle into its new shape and for the final results of rhinoplasty to become apparent.
